5 Best Christian Worship Songs of 2016
Gospel music has come a long way. What used to be confined in the church is now gaining commercial success, indicating its acceptance in the contemporary world that even the Grammys is giving out awards to faith-based artists and their music.
Records producers have certainly tapped into the growing market for this kind music and have included the genre in the Billboard Charts. This could only mean two things: There is a spiritual explosion going on in the Church and Gospel music is able to bridge the gap between Christians and the non-religious sect.
Non-churchgoers are attracted to the calming effect provided by Gospel music. On the other hand, there are other forms of relaxing music like classical, light jazz, new age, etc. But worship music soothes in a way that it not only touches the senses but the soul as well.
The difference lies in the power of the Holy Spirit that is manifested in the music itself and the artists interpreting the song. While other forms of music provide entertainment or lighten the mood, the message of hope delivered by Gospel music uplifts the listener's spirit to be in touch with God.
