91-year-old Man Beaten With a Concrete Brick by a Woman, Told to 'Go Back to Your Country'
A 91-year old grandfather who was just going for a walk in Willowbrook California was savagely attacked by a woman with a concrete block. The woman, who also called for a nearby group of men who ganged up on the elderly, also allegedly shouted to the Latino victim to "go back to your country."
Rodolfo Rodriguez had made the trip from Michoacan, Mexico to visit his family in Willowbrook, in the Los Angeles County of California. He's also a permanent resident of the United States, according to the Washington Post.
He was assaulted by an unidentified woman who had a child with her, after he allegedly bumped into the young girl, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's officials via KTLA. The attack left him unable to walk, with the concrete block dealing massive damage resulting to a broken cheekbone, head injuries and bruised ribs.
"I didn't even bump into her kid," Rodriguez said later to CNN. "I just passed her and she pushed me and she hit me until she was done," he added.
The sheriff's department also mentioned that they are looking for a black woman, who was seen holding a brick in a photo taken by Misbel Borjas who witnessed the incident. She watched the woman push Rodriguez to the ground and then proceed to smash a concrete brick in his face.
All the while, she was yelling "Go back to your country." Borjas attempted to pull over and help, but the suspect allegedly threatened her with the same brick she used to bloody the victim's face.
A group of men then arrived from across the street, kicking the old man who was still collapsed on the ground and stomping on his head.
The GoFundMe campaign his son set up went on to raise more than $240,000, which goes a long way to covering the cost of Rodriguez's treatment.
