Adam Richman Instagram War Costs Him New Show

The Travel Channel has reportedly pulled host Adam Richman's new TV show after he engaged in very controversial comments on social media. Richman was the star of the channel's hit series "Man v. Food," in which he took on food challenges across the nation and was scheduled to air his new how, "Man Finds Food," this week.

Richman posted a photo of himself on Instagram that showed off his 60 pound weight loss, along with the caption #thinspiration. What he may not have known is that the phrase "thinspiration" is often associated with eating disorders and on pro-anorexia and pro-bulimia websites to encourage girls to do whatever it takes to lose weight.

Amber Sarah decided to enlighten Richman and explain the danger of his post, along with the misuse of the word "thinspiration." That's when things reportedly turned even uglier and Richman found himself in the middle of controversy.

"DILLIGAF?" Richman responded to Sarah. The phrase generally stands for "Do I Look Like I Give a (Expletive)"?

"I legitimately don't give a (expletive) about haters & close minded internet loudmouths like you," Richman responded to another user. "And don't come to me with childishness when a hashtag throws you into a tizzy of posting comments like 'never watching you again.' Seriously grab a razor blade & draw a bath. I doubt anyone will miss you."

"Oh eat a bag of (expletive) dummy," he then tweeted to yet another user. "No apology is coming. If it inspires someone to attain a healthy thinner body – then that's what it was meant to do."

Since then, Richman has actually issued an apology, though many question his sincerity given all of the negative publicity and the damage that was already done. His show has been indefinitely postponed, which, no doubt, was part of the reason that Richman apologized.

"I've long since struggled with body image and have worked very hard to achieve a healthy weight," he said in the apology. "Instead of responding to hurtful comments with compassion, I lashed out in anger. I'm not asking for sympathy, but rather understanding and forgiveness. I can say with certainty that I'm incredibly sorry to everyone I've hurt."
