'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D' season 3 news, cast, spoilers: Bigger threats are coming to the show

"Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D" has had a stellar season 2, and so it's no wonder fans are more than interested in what they can expect from the show. From the official synopsis revealed by Spoiler TV, it seems that the upcoming season will be its most exciting yet to date.

Apparently, the search for more powered people will continue on. Director Phil Coulson, played by Clark Gregg, alongside agent Daisy Johnson, played by Chloe Bennet, will be leading the agency. The story would, of course, continue on to follow the aftermath of the battle against Jiaying and her army of Inhumans. However, during their search, it certainly seems that there will be competition in their quest to find new Inhumans.

Spoilers indicate that viewers will get to witness Coulson struggle a lot in the beginning of the season, as he not only deals with the loss of his hand but is also responsible for putting back his organization once more. The Battle in New York opened the eyes of civilians to the truth of superheroes and extraterrestrial existence. This event had forced Coulson to assemble S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division). The agency's mission is to protect those who cannot protect themselves from threats they cannot conceive.

One of the big threats the agency will face now is the spread of Terrigen, an alien substance that apparently gives certain individuals superhuman abilities, which would continue on to cause more new Inhumans unable to comprehend and control their newfound powers. Another alien concern would be the massive Kree Monolith with its unknown properties. Meanwhile, as for the local threats, there would be the rebuilding of Hydra, the terrorist group started by Grant Ward, a former S.H.I.E.L.D employee-turned traitor, with the mission to take down Coulson and his agency.

For now, fans of the show will have to wait on what will happen and how they will deal with these new problems on the return of season 3 on Sep. 29, Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
