AJ Styles News: Phenomenal One's Absence from TV Explained

While AJ Styles is considered as one of the most popular superstars in WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) today, fans can't help but wonder why the so-called Phenomenal One has not been seen fighting in the ring lately, at least, on TV.

Styles' last appearance on the WWE ring was back on September 12, which featured his match with Tye Dillinger. While Styles won over Dillinger and defended his United States Championship title, the esteemed wrestler has been gone from the action since then. Or so fans thought.

With Styles' absence from ''Smackdown'' once again this week, fans couldn't help but wonder what could have happened to the Phenomenal One. While some suspected that Styles could have been injured from his last match, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has finally shed light on the issue.

According to Meltzer, Styles has never really been absent from the WWE ring as the Phenomenal One has actually been working every night even if he is not seen on TV. Reportedly, WWE is saving Styles for dark matches on Tuesdays, after "205 Live" has taken place, as a means of ensuring that fans don't go home even after "SmackDown" is already done.

True enough, Styles appeared at this week's dark match, as he teamed up with Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton to take on Jinder Mahal, Rusev, and Corbin.

Many agree that the love of WWE fans for Styles is undeniable. If not, they would not stay and watch "205 Live" even if they don't like it. Hence, some opine it would be best for WWE to keep the Phenomenal One a hot wrestling commodity as much as possible as Styles is one wrestler who has not only earned the admiration of the fans but his fellow wrestlers, too.

For Sportskeeda, while Corbin is an important part of WWE's future, he is not as promising as Styles for now.
