ALL: Planned Parenthood Private Donations Dwindling
American Life League's STOPP International says the Planned Parenthood Federation of America's 2003-2004 Annual Report shows that private donations to the reducing abortion clinics have decreased, indicating the public is rejecting Planned Parenthoods radical agenda.
"Increases in abortions, more money from taxpayers' pockets, and bigger profit margins -- all while clinics are closing down and donations are dwindling. That is the state of Planned Parenthood," Jim Sedlak, executive director of American Life League's STOPP International, said after observing the report.
Sedlak pointed to several facts in the report to support his statement: Planned Parenthood aborted 138 children for every adoption referral to an outside agency compared to its 18:1 abortion to adoption referral ratio in 1997; the group received $265.2 million in federal funds last year amounting to 33% of elected officials annual budget while turning a net profit of $35.2 million; 866 clinics were cut to 849 in 2003-2004; and private donations have dropped 17 percent to $191 million.
"This report shows the public is increasingly rejecting Planned Parenthood's radical agenda, Sedlak added, but apparently our elected officials haven't gotten the message. Now is the time for Americans to expand the growing efforts to close Planned Parenthood clinics and to put pressure on politicians to stop the obscene amount of taxpayer money that is being funneled to the nation's largest abortion chain."
