Amazon New 4K HDR Fire TV Streaming Devices Should Launch Later This Year

Amazon might launch new versions of their Fire Stick and Fire TV later this year, a leak reveals.

According to AFTV News, the new Fire TV devices will be capable of producing an output of 4K HDR video with up to 60 frames per second. In addition, a higher-end version will be made available. It will come with an Echo-like Alexa support. All of the said features should be compressed into a single device.

With the cube-shaped Fire TV, users will be able to connect to Amazon's voice assistant Alexa without a voice remote. Speakers that are built into the device will blast Alexa's response if the TV is not on.

Though Amazon has yet to respond to the rumors if the company will launch such products, it will easily upstage Apple's 4K HDR-capable TV box.

The buttons found on top of the device will be similar to that of the Echo Dot. It will consist of buttons for the volume, a mute button to disable microphones, and an action button that activates Alexa. Like the rest of Alexa devices, it will sport a blue LED light bar.

Also like its preceding models, the new gadgets will be able to control newer TV setups that support HDMI-CEC. Since most households' TVs have limited functionality, Amazon will throw in an IR emitter.

The new Fire Stick is believed to have a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and 2 GB of RAM.

The Fire TV streaming devices should be launched later this year. But reports suggest that Amazon may push its release date back to early 2018.

The mid-tier version, however, could be announced this month or next month. It should be priced around $60 to $80.

The top-tier installment of Amazon's flagship Fire TV is expected to cost more than $100.
