Amazon Prime on Apple TV to Come Soon?
Is the Amazon Prime Video app finally coming to Apple TV?
If there is one thing lacking with the Apple TV, it would definitely be its inability to support the Amazon Prime Video app. During Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference, tech geeks were anticipating the announcement of the Amazon Prime on the Apple TV since it has been long rumored that it would be announced during the event. However, the WWDC passed and still there was no word as to whether Apple TV would finally be able to support the Prime Video service.
Months passed, and Apple had announced that a new Apple TV would be released with support for 4K streaming. Unfortunately, no word was given yet again for Amazon Prime. Now, just when people were about to give up hope, a Reddit user claiming to be an engineer for Amazon has revealed that the Prime Video service is, in fact, coming to the Apple TV soon.
"Some of you will remember my post a little while back, in which I warned that Amazon would not launch until at least October 26. We're now just about two weeks from the 26th, and the app is still on track to launch that day. In my time at this job, I have never once seen a release slip this close to a scheduled launch. I am very confident in saying that the 26th is finally the day," the Reddit user, AmazonVideoEngineer, said.
According to AmazonVideoEngineer, the release of the service is just being dragged out due to issues on Apple's part, particularly with the company's cut on Amazon revenue and the access to analytics.
Furthermore, the user claims that the app will only be supported on the Apple TV 4 and the TV 4K. If this rumor happens to be true, then there are only two weeks before the supposed release of the app.
