Amy Poehler Kiss With Letterman Surprises All (VIDEO)

Amy Poehler made a splash with an appearance on David Letterman's "Late Show." While discussing Vice President Joe Biden's appearance on her show "Parks and Recreation," Poehler found herself kissing Letterman.

Poehler appeared on the show to discuss the recent guest appearance of Biden on her hit NBC show. Poehler's character, Leslie Knope, had a serious crush on Biden and was hoping for a kiss during the show. That kiss never came, but Poehler received one from David Letterman while on the "Late Show."

As Letterman leaned in to roll a clip from "Parks and Recreation," Poehler made a bit of a joke. "Oh, I thought you were going to go in for a kiss," she commented.

Letterman then followed up her comments by grabbing her arm and pulling her in for a kiss. It was a great surprise to Poehler and the audience, and now the video has gone viral and is causing quite a stir among viewers.

"Tell that to your little buddies back there at NBC," Letterman said after the incident, which brought even more laughter from the audience.

Poehler announced her separation from husband Will Arnett just last month, surprising everyone. The couple met in 2000 and married three years later; they have two sons and will share custody. They were able to work together on various projects including "Arrested Development" and "Blades of Glory."

Arnett told People in 2009 that the first time he saw Poehler, "I said, 'I'm gonna marry that girl' and that he had "an immediate" crush on her.

For her part, Poehler said that Arnett made her "feel very safe. You can have a lot of adventures if you have someone by your side."

Fans were shocked by the announcement and expressed their sadness and disappointment at the separation.

"This makes me so so so sad! I love her and always thought they seemed very happy together and like such a good match. Very unfortunate for their adorable sons," noted People reader anziekayp.
