Android 6.0.1 Beta Arrives On Samsung S6 And S6 Edge As Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Gets Android 5.1.1

Mobile carrier Verizon has finally brought the much-awaited Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 recently, and with this happening, it is not surprising to also hear that Samsung is starting to roll out the latest update to the Android Marshmallow, labelled Android 6.0.1, according to a Tech Times report.

The report however stated the update is only a beta version and that it has only been released to a few participating owners of Samsung S6 and S6 Edge in the United Kingdom. The article cited a detailed report via SamMobile which showed what upgrades were in store for those who already have the newest version of the mobile OS. The limited release of the update also meant that it has not reached the shores of the U.S. yet.

According to the report, the update is expected to be a major one and it contains fixes to the look of the OS as well as other upgrades. The list includes additional Quick Settings toggles in the status bar when on Private Mode, improved visibility of notification panel icons, for fingerprint ID – a vibration occurs only on non-recognition, a new "Install Overnight" option which allows users to set an update installation between 2:00 and 5:00 a.m., for the Edge screen – a new interface which includes an "Edge Panels" option which is customizable, also for the Edge – a new Task Edge panel where one can set app shortcuts, and support for profiles so that one can change options based on location. A new set of emoji characters also comes with the update. SamMobile has a video report that shows these new upgrades as well.
