Angelina Jolie's Lighter Hair, Unmanicured Toes Cause Stir
Angelina Jolie attended the 2013 Women in the World conference last week, debuting a lighter shade of hair as she donated $200,000 to a special cause.
Jolie arrived at the event, hosted by Newsweek and the Daily Beast, wearing an olive gown by Yves Saint Laurent and a black sheer cover. She was also wearing the engagement ring given to her by fiancé Brad Pitt, which she first debuted last year. Jolie's hair was also nearly blonde- a new look for the actress, who usually has dark brown hair.
But despite arriving in her usual glamour, it appeared that Jolie failed to finish off her look with a pedicure. Reports pointed out that the actress was wearing sandals that revealed "appallingly unmanicured" toes. The actress' toes seemed to be the least of her worries, however, given the cause that she was supporting.

Jolie announced Thursday at Lincoln Center that she was pledging $200,000 in honor of Malala Yousafzai- a 15-year-old Pakistani girl who was shot by the Taliban in October because she wanted to go to school. The money will go towards the Malala Fund established by Vital Voices to benefit girls' education.
"There's a lot you can learn from this little girl," Jolie said during a brief appearance onstage. "This evening is the beginning. Vital Voices, Women in the World and I started the Malala Fund. It's not a fund in her name, it's hers and she'll be in charge of it. So we believe this is a modest beginning for a big dream and we hope that you will join us."
Jolie expressed admiration for Yousafzai and said that her incident with the Taliban had only served to make her stronger.
"The Taliban shot her at point-bank range in the head, and made her stronger," Jolie said of Yousafzai, who survived the attack. "In a brutal attempt to silence her voice, it grew louder."
