Apollo Nida Says Purpose of Prison Time is to Strengthen Relationship With God?
Apollo Nida is admitting that he lost himself spiritually after getting out of prison in 2009, which he plans to work on now that he will be spending eight years behind bars.
Nida has received an eight-year prison sentence for allegedly creating fake businesses, false bank accounts and using stolen checks while defrauding automotive lenders. The 35-year-old fitness guru became famous after appearing on "Real Housewives of Atlanta" as attorney Phaedra Parks' husband.
The fitness guru appeared on BE100 Radio's STFU show recently where he was very open about his relationship with God which seemed to decline when he was released from prison in 2009.

"I was captivated by a lot of things. I had definitely fallen off my spirituality a lot," Apollo told BE100. "When I came home for those six years, I lost myself, who I was as a person."
Nida believes that there is a purpose for him spending the next eight years in prison.
"I'm supposed to go in there, recreate myself the way that I did the first time, but this time don't lose myself," he told BE100. "Stay true to myself."
He spoke about God possibly giving him a message to get back into his Bible.
"I wanna stay prayed up, stay spiritual, and I kinda drifted away from that and became just a product of my environment and the world," he said on the radio. "The message for me is, 'Apollo, go sit down. Get back in the Word. Get spiritually rooted; become more foundated and then come out and rock the world.'"
Nida previously appeared on the Bethenny talk show earlier this year where he spoke about his difficulty transitioning from prison life to starring in a reality television show.
"I think so coming from prison, doing six years in prison and then being thrown into a TV show was kind of difficult and I think for the first time coming off I was very quiet and kind of shy, it was just a difficult transition for me," Nida admitted.
