'Aquaman' Premiere, Cast News, Spoilers: Nicole Kidman Reveals Details About Her Character; Ludi Lin Talks About His Role
Nicole Kidman revealed what her character is really all about in the upcoming DC film, "Aquaman." Meanwhile, Ludi Lin talks about what viewers can expect from his character in the film.
Kidman, who will take on the role of Queen Atlanna — the mother Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry, a.k.a. Aquaman — recently described what it was like playing her character in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
"I got to be a mermaid. I got to be a Queen. I got to wear a crown. I got to lie on a rock with my hair strewn in blood and I kind of liked it. I'm not a mermaid, I don't have a tail. I have a crown and I have a particular way of looking. I am a Queen," Kidman revealed in the clip posted on Twitter.
There are no clues yet how Kidman's Altanna will fit into the picture, nor which comic version will be used to tell how he came to bear and born Arthur Curry.
In the D.C. Universe, Queen Atlanna was given two origins. In Earth One, Atlanna married Thomas Curry and died in a coma after giving birth to their son, Syfy notes.
In New Earth, Atlanna had a psychic affair with the Mage Atlan which lead to the creation of Arthur. However, Atlanna abandoned Arthur when he was born with ill-omened blond hair, which seems to be unlikely for the film because Momoa plays the character with his dark locks.
Meanwhile, Lin shared during an interview for the Canadian radio program — "The Ara Show" — that he will be bringing some changes to the character that he's playing, which is Murk, the general of the Atlantean army, CBR confirmed.
"Murk has gone through some changes... So, this is Murk [and] I think he's going to be pretty different from the original conception. But he's going to be pretty remarkable as well," the actor explained.
"Aquaman" is slated to premiere on Dec. 21, 2018.
