'Arrow' season 4 news, cast, spoilers: Season 4 trailer shows off all rumored changes

In the past months, "Arrow" has continuously teased all the different changes that await fans in the upcoming season. The show promised that it will include a lot of nods to its source material, and when finally the new trailer debuted, it did not seem to disappoint at all.

The 2-minute trailer opens with Oliver (Stephen Amell) jogging up to a suburban home where Felicity (Emily Brett Rickards) is apparently cooking. It can be assumed from this point that when season 3 ended, the two went away. Whether their goal was to permanently start anew or just get a breather, it isn't exactly clear. However, knowing Oliver's life, it can never go as smoothly as a normal person's. Soon enough, Oliver, who seemed ready to move on to the next level with Felicity, gets a visit from Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Thea (Willa Holland) needing the help of the Arrow.

Furthermore, Starling City's new name also debuts. In the new season, it is claimed that the name Star City is in memory of Ray Palmer, who was assumed dead in the explosion in his lab. However, many already know that he isn't dead since he will be joining the case of DC's "Legends of Tomorrow." Star City is also the home of DC's Green Arrow.

New costumes are apparent in the trailer, as well. The number of similarities to its comic book counterpart is certainly admirable. The most noticeable change would be his lack of sleeves. Along with the new costume, it seems that Oliver will be officially announcing his new identity as the Green Arrow. Diggle is also sporting a new helmet. Many have criticized it when the pictures of Diggle's new suit came out; however, many have also defended that it looks better in live-action. It is yet to be seen whether Diggle's new combat outfit will undergo alteration over time.

Finally, aside from the changes, the main focus of the trailer seems to be the introduction of the new villain Damien Darhk, played by Neal McDonough. The most interesting part of Darhk's short clips is that it looks like he will be having some sort of power, which he didn't have in the comics. This deviation from the source material is definitely something that fans will point out, and whether it will be taken positively or negativley is yet to be seen.

Season 4 of Arrow will premiere on Oct. 7.
