'Arrow' Season 4 Spoilers: Stephen Amell - Oliver May Have 'Mess[ed] It Up'

Earlier this week, it was reported that a clue in last week's midseason premiere of the fourth season of "Arrow" may indicate a major shift in Oliver Queen's/Green Arrow's (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak's (Emily Bett Rickards) relationship.

According to "Arrow" executive producer Wendy Mericle, the clue to the tension between the two characters in one of the episode's scenes was "a visual clue." This led "Arrow" fans to speculate that the fact that Felicity wasn't wearing her engagement ring meant that her engagement to Oliver had been called off. As viewers know, Felicity and Oliver got engaged at the end of the first half of Season 4. Shortly after that, Felicity was seriously injured and paralyzed after getting shot by one of Damien Darhk's (Neal McDonough) men.

Now, Oliver himself has spoken up about the Olicity engagement. Speaking from the "Arrow" panel at this weekend's Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in New Jersey, Amell said, "The fact is, Felicity is not wearing her ring in that flash forward scene, and that was not a mistake."

"Spoiler alert, I probably mess it up," he revealed.

As for Felicity, ComicBook.com reports that the goth version of the character will make a comeback in the Jan. 27 episode titled "A.W.O.L." Felicity's goth persona made its first appearance in the 2014 episode "The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak," where it was revealed that the character went through a goth phase when she was younger.

Meanwhile, at the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest panel, Amell talked about wanting Slade Wilson/Deathstroke (Manu Bennett) to return to the series, saying, "Manu is a character, and Manu played a great character."

"And I really honest[ly] think that Arrow has been missing something since he hasn't been around," he said, adding: "I really do. He was a transformative villain. I would really love it if Deathstroke could keep being a part of the Arrow universe."

"Arrow" Season 4 airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
