ASUS ZenFlip UX370 Release Date, Specs Rumors: New Windows 10 Convertible Laptop Leaked, to Launch in Second Quarter of 2017
ASUS will reportedly release a brand-new convertible laptop called the ZenFlip UX370 in the second quarter of 2017 and it is being touted as a hero device that could potentially go up against Lenovo's Yoga line.
The Taiwanese electronics company recently published its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2016 and according to the document, the ZenFlip UX370 is one of the devices in ASUS' roadmap. Unfortunately, the presentation slides do not reveal the technical specifications of the forthcoming convertible laptop but it does give a sneak peek of the laptop's design.
The ASUS ZenFlip UX370 is rumored to be the successor of the ZenBook Flip UX360, an ultra-thin convertible laptop that was introduced last year. Both laptops do share a similar design but the upcoming variant appears to have slimmer dimensions with thinner bezels and an improved hinge. The ZenFlip UX370 also seemingly comes in two colors: Mineral Gray and Royal Blue.
The ZenBook UX360 was recently updated with the seventh-generation Intel Kaby Lake-U and Intel Kaby Lake-Y processors and it's possible that these chips will also be what powers the specific variants of the ZenFlip UX370.
Other expected features include a 13.3-inch display with either a Full HD or 4K UHD resolution, a USB Type-C port with support for Thunderbolt 3 and up to 512 GB of solid-state drive (SSD) memory.
As a Windows 10 device, the ZenFlip UX370 could come with a webcam with facial recognition and a fingerprint reader. This would enable users to enjoy password-free log-ins and a more secure way of navigating the online world via Windows Hello. If proven to be true, Cortana will most likely be made available for the convertible laptop as well.
Unfortunately, ASUS has not responded to the latest reports so information regarding the ZenFlip UX370's features and specs should be taken with a grain of salt.
Meanwhile, ASUS' financial report also revealed the company's plans to launch the UX490, Vivobook S, Vivobook Pro and a yet-to-be-revealed gaming laptop.
Given the ZenFlip UX370's release window, it's rumored that ASUS may officially introduce the device during the Mobile World Congress, which will be held in Barcelona, Spain later this month.
