'Avengers: Infinity War' Rumors: Movie to Introduce Silk to the MCU

While the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War" movie is already expected to be the biggest gathering of Marvel superheroes in one movie, the latest in the rumor mill that it may also introduce a character from Spiderman's corner in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe): Silk.

According to recent reports, one actress featured in last summer's ''Spider-Man: Homecoming," Tiffany Espensen, who played the role of one of Peter Parker/ Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Cindy, is included in the cast of "Avengers: Infinity War" as seen on her updated IDMB's profile.

While it's already a known fact that Spider-Man will also be a part of the upcoming movie, and it is normal if some of the characters featured in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" to appear in "Avengers: Infinity War" as well, it is now suspected that Espensen's inclusion in the cast of characters can mean that the movie will include another web-squirting superhero other than Peter Parker.

Rumors claim that Espensen's Cindy character in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is actually Cindy Moon. Avid Marvel fans know too well that, in the comic books, Cindy Moon was also bitten by the same spider that bit Peter Parker and gave him his superhero abilities.

However, unlike Peter Parker, she kept a low profile upon the advice of Spider-Man's former mentor Ezekiel Sims, who told her that her life was in grave danger. It was only after 10 years when Peter Parker discovered that Cindy Moon has the same abilities with him, and since then, Cindy Moon became the female counterpart of Spider-Man as she assumed the identity of Silk.

While the possibility for the MCU to feature a female web-squirting superhero is nothing short of exciting, unfortunately, nothing is certain for now. Whether Espensen's Cindy character is, indeed, Cindy Moon from the comic books and will debut as Silk in "Avengers: Infinity War," fans can only speculate until the movie arrives in May next year.
