'Awkward' Season 5 Rumors: Jake and Tamara to Finally Take It One Level Up, No More Season 6?

Following the hearty holiday season 5A finale of "Awkward," it is rumored that Jake and Tamara will finally let their hearts decide and they will give the show's return a moment that fans will forever remember.

In an interview last year, showrunner Chris Alberghini shared his insights about the unspoken love between the two. Jake (Brett Davern) almost kissed Tamara (Jillian Rose Reed) and it was a sweet moment that ended too soon. As fans already know, the two have had a very unpredictable and quite unstable relationship. On the other hand, the chemistry remains and it is speculated that in part 2 of season five, they will finally explore the lingering feelings they have for each other.

As for Val (Desi Lydic), who said good-bye to Jenna (Ashley Rickards) earlier, fans shouldn't worry too much if her good-bye was final since there are still a lot of things she will impart to her special friend. It is unclear, though, if she will appear in the first episode or not.

TV Series Finale reveals that the second half of the season will bring fans closer to Jenna and her friends' life after high school. The all-new Jenna will reunite with her friends during summer and it seems she has a wide gap to fill in after being separated from them for a year.

For the past months, fans have been waiting for any updates about the renewal for season 6, but Premiere Date revealed that MTV has decided to end the show with season 5. The showrunners said last year that they are hoping for the show's return for another season, but it seems MTV won't give the series another chance. However, the report's authenticity has not been confirmed so fans can continue hoping for now.

"Awkward" season 5B starts airing March 10 on MTV.
