Baby with Thick Hair Becomes Internet Photoshop Sensation

On Friday, a baby with thick hair instantly became an internet star after her mother, Mackenzie Kaplan, posted a selfie that led the internet into a photoshop frenzy.

Dave Kaplan, baby Isabelle's father, told CNN that it was his cousin in Oregon who claimed he might have caused the internet stint as he was the one who posted the said selfie on Reddit. The cousin, Colin, captioned the photo: "My baby cousin has hair that looks like a news anchorman."

While many other babies have become internet sensations due to their adorable poses, Isabelle's photo became viral not only because of her endearing smile but more so because of her thick mane.

After Colin posted the selfie, a lot of Reddit users immediately started making photoshopped versions of her cute face. One user made Isabelle a cherub while another realized that the baby's hair was similar to Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.

Others noticed that the 2-month old had a resemblance with American host and actor Mario Lopez. Some said the baby might be ready to hit Hollywood and work alongside the host.

Kristopher Hough, one of the commenters who noticed the baby's photo, said: "How does this baby have better hair than me? I though babies were bald."

Isabelle's fame didn't stop at Reddit. The image went around other social media networks. A Twitter user said she's one of those who realized that she will never have hair as adorable as that of the 10-week-old's dark and full locks.

Dave said the reason behind his daughter's full mane should be credited to her genes since his mother told him that his bangs were almost covering his eyes as a three-month-old. True enough, pediatrician and co-author of "Heading Home with Your Newborn" Jennifer Shu said a baby's thick and long curls may be linked to genetics.

For Isabelle's parents, the photoshopped images were hilarious and they enjoyed seeing their daughter become a star online. "It's just amazing how creative people are, and it was all in good fun so we got a kick out of it," Dave said.
