Barnes and Noble Nook Color Offered for Just $135 on Ebay
The Barnes and Noble Nook Color tablet is being offered on Ebay refurbished for just $135.
The sale slashes the device's price by $65 making it a great deal for those looking for a low-cost Android name-brand tablet.
Barnes and Noble, along with Amazon, controls the low-end tablet market by providing consumers with cost effective tablets that are efficient and enticing.
The tablet being offered in the sale includes a 7-inch 1024x600 LED-backlit color touchscreen LCD display that also has extra-wide viewing angles for reading books, magazines, and newspapers in color.
It also features 8GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, eBook lending, MP3 audio, MP4 video playback and Pandora. A one year Barnes and Noble warranty applies to the tablet.
The low-end tablet seems to be staking its claim in the market. The Amazon Kindle Fire was released at the end of last year and already controls 16.8 percent of the tablet market due to 4.7 million units shipped during the fourth quarter of 2011. The Nook tablet by Barnes and Noble made up for 3.5 percent of the market.
Apple currently controls the global market for tablet computer devices accounting for a 54.7 percent share. But it received a significant blow in the fourth quarter dropping down by over six percent. This is largely due to the release of the Kindle Fire, according to IDC.
The device was deemed the iPad's first true competitor even though it barely comes close to it in terms of specs. Samsung holds the third highest amount of the tablet market share with 5.8 percent. New devices such as the smartphone/tablet hybrid Galaxy Note could possibly change that.
