'Bates Motel' Season 4 Episode 4 Spoilers: Norman Points Finger At His Mother; Will Dylan Believe His Brother?
A&E's hit psychological thriller drama TV series "Bates Motel" Season 4 returns this week with a brand new episode that will further see Norman's (Freddie Highmore) denial of his condition. Meanwhile, series actor teases that his character might be having a hard time determining who really among the Bates is going nuts.
A promo clip for the upcoming episode titled "Lights of Winter" shows Norman calling out for Dylan (Max Thieriot) from Pineview Institute to tell him about their mother who is "in trouble."
The news raises a question and Norman cryptically said that "the truth is going to come out now."
For those who missed Episode 3 "Til Death Do You Part," Norma confided to Dr. Edwards (Damon Gupton) that he thinks Norma (Vera Farmiga) is out of her mind and that he's got reasons to believe that she might have hurt other people, and worse, she might have even committed a murder.
Dr. Edwards appeared to be quite alarmed with the unwarranted revelation. He told the youngster the possibility that he could be forwarding this information to the police. To which the teenager agreed to.
Perhaps it was a set-up, but Norman is expecting that the confession he made might have already alerted the authorities and he wants Dylan to know about it.
The situation is now getting more complicated as Dylan is expected to return home to check if everything is alright with his mother and half-brother.
In an interview, Thieriot said that things are slowly unraveling itself and his character might be having a hard time deciphering the details.
"That's kind of one of the first moments where he realizes there are big issues," Thieriot told Seat42F.com. "What they talk about on the phone, sort of sparks Dylan to go, 'Okay. Things are obviously a mess. I know I have everything going on with Emma [Olivia Cooke] right now, but I have to get back home. I have to get back to my mom and Norman and figure this out.'"
It won't be easy for him at all to determine who's telling the truth.
"Neither one of them are ever really telling Dylan the truth, or at least all of it," the actor went on to say. "He's trying to figure out who's really the crazy one here. That's sort of the beginning of bringing him back drawn into the family."
"Bates Motel" Season 4 airs Mondays, at 9 on A&E.
