'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' Release Date, Synopsis & Update: Footage Released
The release date of the most-awaited DC Comics movie "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is almost near and fans are getting more and more excited to catch it in cinemas. The hype is heightened even more with the teasers that Warner Bros. Pictures have been releasing for its fans.
According to Coming Soon, a new "Batman v Superman" footage was released during the DC Films special on The CW. It was revealed alongside the new "Suicide Squad" trailer, the first "Wonder Woman" footage and the new "Justice League" featurettes which showcased Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash.
The featurette revealed a few new tidbits of footage from the film, giving fans a glimpse of what's to come. Aside from that, video interviews with Ben Affleck, who plays Batman, Henry Cavill, who plays Superman, and Jesse Eisenberg, who plays Lex Luthor, were also featured. In the interview, each actor talked about the plot of the film and the characters they are playing. The director of the film, Zack Snyder, also spoke in the video wherein he revealed how the superheroes will come together to fight as one unit.
To those who do not know the plot of the film yet, Collider detailed the official synopsis and it said that it will center on Batman, "Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante," taking on Superman, Metropolis's "most revered, modern-day savior." And while the two are in a battle, a new threat surfaces and they will need to set aside their issues to save mankind.
Den of Geek noted that the movie has been rated PG-13 by the MPAA as it will contain intense violence and action. There will also be a hint of sensuality. The movie will premiere on March 25, 2016 and will also star Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Gal Gadot as Diana Prince or Wonder Woman.
