Best Street Drummer Ever? This Paint Bucket Performance Will Blow Your Mind! (VIDEO)
A young man banging on paint buckets sounds like the kind of thing you call the cops for – disturbing the peace. And the racket that Gordo plays in this video indeed shatters any hopes of a peaceful walk on this stretch of Sydney, Australia sidewalk. But it's jaw-droppingly beautiful.
Gordo, who studied drumming in Japan, attracts a crowd by beating on an assortment of empty paint buckets with superhuman speed and precision. He has a main bucket, which he shifts with his feet. Lift it up and it serves as a bass drum; put it flat on the sidewalk and it's a snare. Other buckets provide different timbres of rim shots.
As the routine goes on, it gets more frenetic with Gordo twirling and flipping sticks in the air, even going under his leg without missing a beat. The crowd loves it.
