Bible Verses for Single Parents
Being a single parent can be overwhelming, tiring and frustrating especially for those who have more than one child. Fulfilling the roles of both father and mother requires double the effort in confronting problems which would drain your energy and deprive you of having time for yourself.
It's a tough job, but you love your kids so much that you're willing to sacrifice and not give up on them. Things would be a lot easier if only you have a partner who can help out. On that part, you have to trust God who knows what's best for you.
At this point, however, you have to hold on tighter to the Lord for strength to fulfill your life mission of raising your children well. Your situation is the cross Jesus said you have to bear while following Him (Matthew 16:24). Below are encouraging Bible verses to help you carry that cross.
1. When feeling uncertain
"The Lord is on my side, I will not fear. What can man do to me?" (Psalm 118:6)
2. When feeling weak
"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)
3. When feeling tired
"Come to me all who labor and are heavy laden , and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
4. When feeling stressed
"Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)
5. When worrying about the future
"But as it is written, 'What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him." (1Corinthians 2:9)
