Black Friday 2011: Toys 'R' Us Hosting Early Weekend Super Sale
It is not quite yet Black Friday, but an exciting early sale has sprouted up at Toys "R" Us with the toy megastore unveiling its 2-day Mega Sale Doorbusters deals for Friday Nov. 4 and Saturday Nov. 5.
Called the "Ultimate Kickoff to Christmas," the kid retailer boasts that this weekend’s sale features the lowest prices of the season. Highlights include 25 percent off LEGOS, 30 percent off a Star Wars Flying Radio Control and 50 percent of Littlest Pet Shop Rescue Tails Center.
Perhaps the most exciting item on the Black Friday sale list is a half-off Razor Scooter, which is priced at $19.99. Other huge deals include buy one, get one Jessica Dream Dazzlers.
Other play items included in the massive sale are exclusive figurines, video games and toy cars.
Aside from toys for kids, the retailer offers significant savings on tech gadgets and other electronics. For example, the COBY 8GB Touchscreen MP3 Player with Video is available for $49.99 which is $20 lower than the usual price.
Shoppers can visit Toys R Us all day Friday and Saturday to get ahead of the major crowds expected Black Friday. The store opens at 9 a.m. Friday and at 8 a.m. Saturday. The store's mascot, Geoffrey the Giraffe, will be in attendance. According to the weekend sale ad, shoppers have a chance to meet with Geoffrey.
On Oct. 30, the company alerted the masses about the various holiday season savings via a Facebook status that read: "Drumroll, please! The Great Big Toys "R"Us Book is hitting newspapers and our stores nationwide today. Jam-packed with 80 pages of items, kids can't wait to thumb through the pages to circle the gifts they want to discover. Parents will find nearly $8,000 in savings – more than ever before – and more than 50 free gifts-with-purchase available in Toys "R" Us stores now through 11/23, while supplies last."
