Blind Teen With Cerebral Palsy Performs Angelic Rendition of 'Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)' - This Will Inspire You (VIDEO)
Marlana VanHoose has known challenges all her life, being born blind and diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a toddler. She was also born with human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) and not expected to live past a year. The Denver, Ky. 17-year-old disregarded those expectations, and is now an inspiration to many to persevere through the obstacles in life.
At the age of two, the same year she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, she learned to play the piano by ear. Coupling her skill on the piano with an angelic voice, VanHoose performs in uplifting displays of her determination and talent. She's sung before crowds at the Kentucky Special Olympics, a University of Kentucky mens basketball game and NASCAR's Quaker State 400, which drew a crowd of over 100,000.
In this video, VanHoose sings "Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)" at Tim Farmer's Homemade Jam, a showcase of Kentucky's musical talent held on the University of Kentucky campus.
