Boxing News 2016: Marquez Wants Two More Fights Before Retiring; Fury Almost Bought Scottish Castle After Klitschko Fight

Four-division world champion and Mexican boxing legend Juan Manuel Marquez is eyeing for two more fights before finally hanging up his gloves for good.

Now 42 years old, "El Dinamita" is currently in the sidelines nursing a knee injury that he sustained in late 2014. The said condition made him contemplate retirement, but recently, he clarified his immediate future plans.

In an interview with ESPN Deportes (which was reported by Miguel Rivera for Boxingscene), Marquez says he intends to fight for two more times this year, eyeing May and September as tentative dates.

"That's what I'd like (to do)," Marquez said. "I want to fight in Mexico, possibly at Azteca Stadium or in Mexico City Arena, but we have to see how things will go - but for now that's what I want."

Marquez also gave updates on the condition of his knee, noting that it is "doing well." He added that he does not intend to rush his comeback and is still gauging if his body can still handle the grinding preparation for an elite prizefight.

Marquez, who holds a win-loss record of 56-7-1, with 40 wins by knockout, began his professional boxing career in 1993. Along the way, he has been involved in notable fights, particularly in a four-fight series with Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao.

He last saw action in May 2014, where he won by unanimous decision against former world champion Mike "Mile High" Alvarado.

Meanwhile, heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury recently revealed that he almost purchased a Scottish castle right after his November victory against former long-time champion Wladimir Klitschko.

According to another Boxingscene report, Fury, along with his father and two brothers, took a road trip to Scotland right after the fight. After having seen a castle in Moray and considering buying it, he says he had a sudden change of heart after seeing how different the actual structure looked, compared to the pictures.

Fury is slated to have a rematch against Klitschko in a still undetermined date in 2016.
