Even at retirement, undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. just can't help himself but make the headlines. This time, he's saying that even the "crazy numbers" being offered will not convince him to fight again. According to the former pound-for-pound best boxer in the world, someone's offering him money worth nine figures to make a comeback.
But he's not interested, as it appears. "As of right now, I am out completely," he said. The 38-year-old may still be enjoying the fruits of his win against Manny Pacquiao and Andre Berto, which means he's in no hurry to earn some more. His fight against the "Pacman" is the richest in the history of the sport and the kind of money he earned for that fight is good enough reason for him to stay retired.
Mayweather is credited for winning world titles at five different weight classes, starting in super featherweight. He eventually won 12 world titles all in all, deciding to retire with an unblemished record of 49 wins, 0 defeats, and 26 knockouts. The last time he fought was September of last year when he easily defeated Andre Berto.

But not a lot of people are convinced with his retirement claim especially that he already did the same thing in the past and eventually decided to give it a go once again. Also, he calls himself "Money" for good reason, and if he runs out of it, the best way to replenish is to once again climb up to the ring. Yes, he is true to his word about staying retired as of the moment, but the impulse and need for money will eventually catch up with him.
Another reason why it is too difficult to believe him is because he's one win shy of breaking the record of American legendary boxer, Rocky Marciano, who quit the ring with a record of 49 wins (43 knockouts) with no defeats. If he reaches 50, there will be little argument as to who should be considered the best in history.
