Brody Jenner Denies Dissing Kim Kardashian
Brody Jenner is defending himself amid claims that he disrespected his step sister Kim Kardashian by skipping her wedding but attending that of her ex-boyfriend Reggie Bush.
"Not going to Kim's wedding was not me trying to diss her and Kanye," Jenner recently told People.
Jenner, 30, and his model girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter, 26, posed with NFL running back Bush who used to date Kardashian after he married his new wife Lilit Avagyan in San Diego recently. After posting images of the occasion on Instagram, spectators spoke out about why Brody attended Bush's wedding after skipping out on that of his step-sister, whom the football player once dated.
"I simply had a very last-minute thing. They didn't want to let people know about their wedding early in advance, and I had already booked gigs in Chicago and some other places, so I was already working," Jenner told People. "I've been friends with Reggie for a very long time. I really love him and he's one of my favorite people on this entire planet."
Still, Jenner admitted that his bond with Bush strengthened when the football player dated Kardashian.
"I got to have a really close relationship with him through him and Kim being together," he said.
Bush's wedding took place at the Grand Del Mar Hotel in San Diego, California. Bush and Kardashian dated for three years before splitting in 2010. Since then, Kardashian was married and divorced from NBA player Kris Humphries before marrying rap mogul Kanye West last May.
Despite media reports, Jenner insisted he and Kardashian were on good terms even though he could not attend the nuptials.
"I wish Kim the best … I told her I wouldn't be able to attend — she had no problem with it — and I think that that is all that matters, cause Kim was the one getting married," Brody previously explained on his show The Brody Jenner & Dr. Mike Dow Podcast. "As long as Kim is OK with me not being there, I gave her all my best wishes — she's cool with it, that's all that matters."
