Division rivals meet.
Division rivals clash at the First Niagara Center as the Buffalo Sabres host the Montreal Canadiens in the regular season of the National Hockey League.
The match-up is on February 12, 2016 at 7:00 PM ET.
As the season continues on its relatively early stages, the Canadiens are experiencing inconsistency in their campaign so far as they see themselves far from the top of the division despite having a talented line-up.
For the Sabres, they are near the bottom of the pile and are only better than the Toronto Maple Leafs in the standings as Buffalo are desperately trying to turn things around.
Buffalo are below the .500 mark this season at 21-28-6 and they are trying to get a big win over the Canadiens in their third meeting of the season.
They have also lost their last four so far this year and have only secured three wins in their last 10 games.
On the other hand, things have not been any better for the Canadiens as they have only a slightly better record at 27-24-4 but they seem to have things figured out at the moment as they have won their last three games.
They lost to Buffalo the last time they met as Alex Galchenyuk's great game was overshadowed by Jamie McGinn's performance.
However, the Canadiens already hold a win over the Sabres this season – in their first meeting where Montreal scored six in the last two periods to dominate their opponents 7-2 to go on to an 8-0 start in their campaign.
After this clash, they are scheduled to meet twice again but this third battle should be big as it determines who will get the series lead in their match-up for the regular season.
