'Call It Maybe' Spoof on NFL's Replacement Refs Goes Viral (VIDEO)

Yet another spoof of singer Carly Rae Jepsen's song "Call Me Maybe" has gone viral, this time because it mocks the replacement referees currently wreaking havoc in the National Football League.
The video, entitled "Call It Maybe" and created one week ago by Seth Haake of Minneapolis, shows various shots of replacement referees, who are currently substituting for the NFL's normal referees due to a lockout over pay, making legendary controversial calls.
"Threw my wish in a well, got a call from Roger Goodell, want to ref the NFL? I said I'm on my way," Haake croons, referencing Roger Goodell, the Commissioner of the NFL.

"I'd trade my soul for a wish, personally thanked the commish, am I prepared for this? Who cares I'm on my way," the song continues.
The catchy melody rings in the chorus: "Hey I just met you, that play was crazy, what's his number, I'll call it maybe."
Unfortunately, the spoof was created last week, before Monday's Greenbay Packers/Seattle Seahawks game which has caused the video to receive publicity, and therefore there is no footage of Monday's controversial call.
On Monday's game, replacement referees made a highly controversial call when they pronounced the Seahawks as having a touchdown when Seattle wide receiver Golden Tate and Packers safety M.D. Jennings both leaped for the ball with eight seconds left in the game.
Although the referees called a touchdown, saying Tate caught the ball, many viewers argued that Jennings had been securely holding the ball with both hands to his chest when the two players hit the ground.
This controversial call cost the Packers the game, resulting in a final score of 14-12.
The call has caused a widespread outcry from football fans across the U.S., who are demanding the that NFL return its original referees, which have been sitting out for seven weeks of this 2012 season due to a squabble with Goodell over less than one percent of the league's $9 billion earnings.
