In team news for Cameroon, Samuel Eto'o is trying to recover in time for the game from a knee injury. Twenty-four hours ahead of the game he had not been ruled out, meaning he is likely to undergo a late fitness test, but in all likelihood he will lineup in this vital match up for the African country.
Luka Modric, who suffered a foot injury in Croatia's opening game against Brazil, is also thought to be fit enough to play today.
Croatia's coach Niko Kovac has said ahead of today's game: "It was hard to come forward against Brazil but this game will be a different story because I expect us to have more possession and dominate."
Talking about the likely hot and humid conditions in the Amazonian city of Manaus, where the match will be played, he also added, "Purposeful running will be the key because of the weather. As we saw in a high-tempo England v Italy game, and one of superb quality, both sides wilted after 70 minutes in the unbearable heat."
Meanwhile, Cameroon's German coach Volker Finke has said: "Croatia is a team that has good players. There are players who play at clubs in Spain, at Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, in the Bundesliga ... it is clear that this is a good team."
Relating to the situation of his opposition today he added, "They are in the same situation as us, they lost their opener. If you have zero points after the first game, you do not talk too much, you just have to win at all costs."
