'Captain America: Civil War' News, Spoilers: Don Cheadle on Rhodey's Fate; MCU Supercut Explains the Road to 'Civil War'

Fans who have seen both of the trailers for "Captain America: Civil War" know that James Rhodes/War Machine (Don Cheadle) doesn't look like he makes it out of the film alive.

In the trailers, Rhodey, Tony Stark/Iron Man's (Robert Downey, Jr.) best friend, appears to have been shot out of the sky by Steve Rogers/Captain America's (Chris Evans) best pal, Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan). As Iron Man cradles his injured (or dead?) friend, the trailers show that there is a hole in Rhodey's armor where the arc reactor is supposed to be.

The trailers have fueled fan speculation that Rhodey could die in "Civil War." Now, Cheadle has spoken up about the rumors and hinted at his character's fate.

Speaking to the New York Daily News, Cheadle, who is currently promoting his new film "Miles Ahead," said:

"I'm on Twitter, so I've gotten a few people going, 'Rhodey better not be dead, son. I'm going to be so mad.' Or 'I'm done with this thing if Rhodey's dead.' But that's cool, I like that people get so upset about it. I like that in a Marvel movie people are able to evoke such emotion… It does look bad for Rhodey."

Meanwhile, his "Civil War" co-star Jeremy Renner, who plays Clint Barton/Hawkeye, recently appeared at the Comic Con FanXperience in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he spoke a bit about the much-anticipated Marvel superhero clash film.

"What I have seen is really, really spectacular," he told the crowd at the convention (as quoted by the Salt Lake Tribune). "I'm excited to see what happens in 'Civil War.' I'm as excited as you guys are."

With just a few weeks left before the film hits theaters, Marvel superfan Charles Villanueva came out with a supercut explaining the various decisions that eventually lead to Captain America and Iron Man facing off in "Civil War."

The Marvel Cinematic Universe supercut takes scenes from the 12 movies and four television shows and is a quick "Civil War" primer for those who need some history and context on the Avengers' conflict.

"Captain America: Civil War" drops May 6.
