Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert Duet 'Somethin Bad' (VIDEO)
Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert joined forces on the song "Somethin' Bad" at the 2014 Billboard Awards with a photo to prove it.
Ahead of Sunday's awards show, Underwood shared a photo of the pair wearing Thelma and Louise shirts on Instagram while rehearsing Lambert's new song.
"Somethin' bad about to happen," Underwood wrote in the caption of the picture.
The two country music superstars brought down the house at the Billboard Awards with their performance of "Somethin' Bad," which was complete with pyrotechnics and a screaming crowd. Lambert donned a short leather skirt while Underwood chose black shorts, but both performers wore black leather jackets while they belted out the new tune.
Ahead of the Billboard Awards, Lambert gushed about having Underwood team up with her on the song, which is off of Lambert's upcoming album "Platinum," in stores June 3.
"I'm a huge Carrie Underwood fan," Lambert told Billboard. "'Somethin' Bad' is a meshing of our styles and there aren't many female collaborations in our format, so I'm really excited to be debuting it on the Billboard Awards."
Although Lambert is now thrilled to be singing alongside Underwood, she said that asking the "Blown Away" singer to do the duet was "nerve-wracking."
"Singing with Carrie Underwood is very, very intimidating," Lambert explained. "I'll be honest. She is an amazing vocalist. Asking her to do this was nerve-wracking. I sent her an e-mail, a long, blabbing e-mail about is she wanted to sing on the record, it could be cool, but maybe she didn't want to, and it she liked the song, but she didn't have to like the song … and when I sent it, I thought, 'This sounds ridiculous.'"
In addition to joining Lambert on "Somethin' Bad," Underwood may also appear in the music video for the song.
"I'm hoping that she'll come to the dark side and blow something up and set something on fire in the video," Lambert added.
