Casting Call Beings For New Multiracial R&B/Rap Group
PhatBoy Entertainment seeks to break down barriers in Christian culture
PhatBoy Entertainment, the rap/hip-hop division of urban gospel entertainment company Avista Records, has announced the casting call for a new R&B/Rap group called 5.0. The group, which will be made up of 4 members of various races, is purposed to be a symbol of unity within Christian culture, going beyond racial and denominational barriers, according to a press-release.
With whats going on in todays society, God is raising people up to counteract what the devil is doing to the youth, says JT, CEO of PhatBoy Entertainment, about 5.0.
Created in December of last year, PhatBoy Entertainment markets and promotes its releases with the same push power as major secular recording labels.
It is time for a label to have a permanent presence in mainstream, says JT. The Christian kids want rap and hiphop music, but it is hard to go to major retail stores to purchase an album. There are not great looking music videos, commercials, or anything in the mainstream to promote records, but now is the time to do what should have been done years ago.
