'Castle' Season 7 Spoilers: New Season Will Start With Car Accident in 'Real Time'

"Castle" will not return to ABC until the fall, but fans can already look forward to exactly where the new season will pick up this year.

The season six finale of the crime drama saw a fiery car accident involving Castle. Fortunately, once season seven gets underway, fans will see the immediate fallout of the crash, according to series creator Andrew Marlowe.

"We feel like, given the way we left off, we have an obligation to start exactly where we ended," the executive producer told TVLine. "So we'll be picking up in real time."

Marlowe's clue leaves many "Castle" fans hoping to see more of Kate Beckett in her wedding dress, and maybe even an actual wedding. During season six, rumors circulated that Castle's leading lady may be killed, and Stana Katic who portrays Beckett pointed to at least one death on the show with a Twitter post.

"S6 finale had us saying goodbye to a number of colleagues today," she wrote on the social media site earlier this year. "Lucky to work with these incredibly talented actors."

Shortly thereafter, the actress added, "Last day of filming. Quite a gift working with this crew & cast. Thankyou everyone for watching! All the best, Stana."

The actress seemed to point toward her own farewell from the television series. Nevertheless, "Castle" fans are especially curious if Beckett and Castle (Nathan Fillion) will get married this season, or at all.

While Castle and Beckett were fully prepared to finally marry in the season six finale, an unexpected road block arose after Beckett realized her wild night in Las Vegas has resulted in a years-long marriage completely unbeknownst to her. Consequently, Beckett had to officiate a divorce from the Vegas bartender, Rogan O'Leary (Eddie McClinktock) before she could marry Castle. However, it remains unknown is Rick is getting out of his current situation alive.

It is believed that "Castle" season seven will premiere on Sept. 22 at the very earliest, according to CarterMatt.
