Champions League Final 2014 Live Stream Free, Football Start Time: How to Watch Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid Online
The Champions League Final 2014 takes place on Saturday from Lisbon, Portugal. This year's final will be between Real Madrid and local cross-city rivals Atletico Madrid.
This is the first time two teams from the same city have met in the final, and although Atletico Madrid recently won the Spanish La Liga title, it is Real with the history of success in the Champions League.
The Champions League final will kick off at 2.45 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (Details below).
Atletico Madrid successfully won the La Liga title in Spain recently. They are the first team to win the Spanish title outside of the big two, Barcelona and Real Madrid, for a decade.
Atletico Madrid come into this final having knocked out Barcelona in the quarterfinals and Chelsea in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid come into the final having demolished holders Bayern Munich in the semifinals. Real have by no means been at their best this season, but the manner in which they steamrollered over Bayern Munich – a team that strolled to the German Bundesliga title, and took apart Barcelona in last season's competition – will give them confidence that they are hitting their top form at the most important time of the season.
It is six years since Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the Champions League final for Manchester United as they claimed the title by defeating Chelsea. He has been out injured over recent games, but all signs are that he will be back and ready to go for tonight's final.
Losing out on the Spanish La Liga title this year will have been painful for Real, but this season it will have been even more painful seeing their cross-city rivals snatching the crown. They will want to do everything in their power to stop Atletico stealing the Champions League title as well, and losing today would be a disaster for them.
Real fans will be looking to the likes of Ronaldo and Gareth Bale to lead the front line and penetrate the difficult Atletico defense, which has so successfully stifled Real and Barcelona all season long.
Ronaldo recently said, "I feel good but still not 100 percent. I hope to be ready for Saturday. It is my first day out on the pitch and I feel OK and happy."
He added, "Nobody wants to miss a final, a final we have been aiming for and it is obviously important. If the body can't do it then it is not the end of the world but I will be there, I am confident."
