Dawson might leave firefighting now that she's a mom
NBC dropped the first teaser for "Chicago Fire" Season 5. It is actually a collection of images from the previous season, but a voice which is unmistakably Dawson's can be heard between various images of fires, rescues friendships and family. The voice says to never doubt kindness and being back together as an incredible family. With that, it can be surmised that "Chicago Fire" Season 5 will have unity as its main theme.
Little is known about Season 5
Aside from the underlying theme, Season 5 still remains a mystery. Although last season finale's cliffhanger will surely not result to the death of Stella and Severide, the event will surely impact the couple's lives.

The new season is also expected to address the existing conflict between Boden and Jimmy following what happened to the latter's brother. Dawson and Casey will be acclimatizing to their new life together, especially now that they have Louie around.
Career Change
Recently however, it has been reported that "Chicago Fire" Season 5 will see the addition of some new faces and changes for the characters. For one, Gabby Dawson may be leaving her firefighting career behind now that she is a mother. She will make her son as her top priority that will force her to view her work differently.
Since her boyfriend, Matt Casey, is also a firefighter, Dawson realizes the dangers of their job now she is responsible for another person. She is said to be considering a career that is less dangerous than running into burning buildings. Another report said that she might work full time as an emergency medical technician or EMT.
Meanwhile, Scott Elrod, formerly from "Grey's Anatomy", has been signed on to the show to play Dr. Travis Brenner. Reports say that Dr. Brenner will get involved in a love story very early in the season. He is said to meet Severide in a fire call and the two will hit it off right away and become buddies.
Another Crossover Romance
Another inter-series relationship is about to happen in the upcoming season. It will involve Sylvie Brett of "Chicago Fire" and Antonio Dawson of "Chicago P.D.".The crossover romance could only signal more crossover episodes for the two shows.
Executive Producer Matt Olmstead explained that there is a lot to play with in the May-December romance between Sylvie and Antonio. He is a divorced father with three kids, while she has had her heart broken. There is no way for them to be together, but Sylvie finds in him the real man she is looking for. Antonio, on the other hand, is looking for a real soul and heart. He found those in her as well.
A crossover relationship is nothing new to both shows as Severide and Lindsay of "Chicago P.D."previously had an intense romance before deciding to part ways. The relationship did not work as well as that of Mouch and Platt who went on to get married.
"Chicago Fire" season 5 premieres on October 11 on NBC.
