Chip and Joanna Gaines Open Up About Pregnancy Rumors, Future Return to TV

Chip and Joanna Gaines recently responded to rumors claiming they are expecting their fifth child.

The "Fixer Upper" stars announced in late September that their hit HGTV show is ending after season 5. Many fans were initially upset over the news, but the Gaineses want everyone to know that the decision was a precautionary step to preserve their marriage.

"For us, the most important thing in the world is Jo and I's relationship, followed very quickly by these four beautiful kids," Chip said during an interview on the Today show (via CNN).

The HGTV hosts are parents to Drake, 12, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie, 7. They previously said that their reason for leaving the show was to give attention to their other business endeavors and family life.

On Tuesday, the couple also addressed the rumors surrounding their abrupt exit from the limelight. There are speculations that Joanna is pregnant, while some believe their relationship is on the rocks. Joanna spoke with Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday and said none of that is true.

"There's so many [rumors], even leading up to it — I had this skincare line, so I'm leaving. It made it look like I was doing my own thing and Chip didn't even know about it. That was just a big rumor," she stated. "That our marriage is on the rocks ... I was pregnant. It's funny when you start hearing this stuff. I was like, 'I guess people can just make stuff up.'"

Filming for "Fixer Upper" season 5 finishes on the first week of November. Although they are happy with the idea of wrapping up the home remodeling program, Chip and Joanna admitted that they are not ruling out a possible return to TV in the future.

For now, their focus is on their Magnolia Market business and their upcoming restaurant, which is scheduled to open in January and February.

HGTV has yet to announce an official premiere date for the fifth and final season of "Fixer Upper."
