Chris Brown 'Felt Awful' Watching Girlfriend Karrueche Tran Cry Over Him on Talk Show (VIDEO)
Chris Brown was reportedly devastated after watching his girlfriend Karrueche Tran cry on BET's "Just Keke" show and insiders claim the singer blames himself for her pain.
On Monday fans got a preview of Tran's upcoming appearance on actress Keke Palmer's BET talk show and in the interview she openly discusses her relationship with Brown. The Los Angeles based model, 26, was reduced to tears while pouring her heart out about Brown, 25, and his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, 26.
"He wished that she wouldn't have broken down. But you know, those are her feelings, and he respects them," a source close to Brown told HollywoodLife.com.
"He felt awful seeing her cry. He knew those tears stem from what he'd done to her in the past and how he treated her," the insider explained.
Tran was first thrust into the spotlight when she began dating the "Loyal" singer in 2011 and during the interview she was asked by how she has been able to stay grounded despite being involved in a love triangle with Brown and Rihanna.
"Just keeping a level head and positivity. I've never dated a celebrity before so it was very new to me," Tran said.
"Paparazzi and all that. And then, even the situation with Rihanna, you know the reason why people tuned into this so much was because it's relatable ... It's the case of the ex. We all go through it, do you know what I'm saying?" she added.
In 2012 Brown reunited with Rihanna which left Tran heartbroken however they continued seeing each other on and off despite the love triangle.
"It's hard for him to watch Kae bawl like that. It's tough. He knows he hasn't always been the best man to her, but he's human and everyday he's learning on how to drastically improve his behavior and relationships," the insider explained.
Tran has dated Brown on and off for three years and as a result she has become somewhat of an online target for haters, who constantly criticize and at times hurl abuse at her via social networking sites Instagram and Twitter.
"But, however…in this case my boyfriend is a celebrity who's ex-girlfriend is an even bigger [celebrity]...Do you know what I'm saying? So, not only am I fighting a battle with her, I'm fighting a battle with her 14 million fans," Tran continued.
"So, imagine how that feels for me when I gotta get on Twitter and I see a whole bunch of stuff….They make up all kinds of crazy stuff and it's like they know nothing about me," she said.
Palmer then asked Tran what "the hardest part" of constantly having to deal with the drama has been which prompted her to begin sobbing.
"Um, jeez. I guess I would say the heartbreak because it was a real situation. And umm...sorry," she said while fanning away tears. "Yeah, it was a real life situation."
