Chris Pine: 'Cyclone of Insanity' Working With Lindsay Lohan

Actor Chris Pine has had the opportunity to work with stars of all shapes and sizes but recalls working with Lindsay Lohan perhaps most of all. The star of "Star Trek" recently described working with Lohan as a "cyclone of insanity."

"It was a real cyclone of insanity, like being around the Beatles," Pine told The Hollywood Reporter. "IT was fascinating to watch and in hindsight it's really a distinct moment in someone's life when you see what's really wonderful about what we get to do and what's really dangerous about it."

Pine and Lohan worked together on "Just My Luck" when Pine was just starting out; Lohan was fresh from the set of cult hit "Mean Girls" and at the height of her career. While she went on to have serious personal issues and deal with the justice system, Pine focused more on his career and wound up becoming one of today's superstars.

"The light of my flame was really bright after 'Star Trek,' and I had that bizarre convergence of everything's so intense for about a month, and then it died down. During that time the paparazzi are [expletive] chasing you, and you're driving at speeds you shouldn't be driving at. Thankfully, I don't really have much of that anymore," Pine joked.

After starring in two "Star Trek" remakes, Pine has moved on to a new iconic role, leading man Jack Ryan, created by author Tom Clancy. He has been portrayed by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, and Ben Affleck in the past, and now Pine will join their ranks in "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit." However, acting is not all that Pine is interested in.

"I love exploring ideas and throwing stuff against the wall and seeing what fits … Directing sometime in the future and writing … yeah, I can see that all in my future. But I can be incredibly lazy," Pine chuckled.

"Jack Ryan" opens January 17.
