Chromecast: Amazon and Best Buy Already Sold Out of New Technology

Earlier this week Google introduced it's newest product, Chromecast. The tiny device plugs into the HDMI outlet on most modern TV sets, and allows users to stream media content from their computers, tablets, and phones directly to their television sets wirelessly. It seems like Chromecast's success is imminent, as the device is flying off the virtual shelves.

Both Amazon and Best Buy have are already sold out of Chromecast, despite the fact that device was announced by Google on Wednesday. Chromecast can still be purchased through the Google Play store, but it is not readily available. Chromecast Google Play purchase won't ship for two to three weeks, USA Today reported.

This past Wednesday Mario Queiroz, vice president of product management at Google, presented the device and explained how it worked.

In his presentation he said that Chromecast is "the easiest way to bring your favorite online entertainment to your TV."

Not only is the device easy, it's also more convenient than other options for streaming online content to the television because it is very small and wireless.

"It's just two inches in length. We were able to pack a lot of power into this tiny device because it's built on chrome technology," Queiroz explained.

Another way the device is more convenient to consumers is it's surprisingly low price. With just a $35 price tag, this piece of technology is rather affordable.

"Our engineers have worked really really hard to make Chromecast as affordable as possible for as many consumers as possible. So we're happy to announce that Chromecast will retail for $35," he added.
