Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Trade Rumors: Cavs Targeting Clippers Center DeAndre Jordan

The Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly keeping a close eye on Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan.

According to AmicoHoops' Sam Amico, the Cavaliers have emerged as a possible landing spot for Jordan if the Clippers decide to move him.

"The Cleveland Cavaliers are closely monitoring the DeAndre Jordan situation and quietly exploring the possibility of trading for the Los Angeles Clippers center, league sources told Amico Hoops on Wednesday," Amico said in his report.

"Nothing is imminent and the Cavs have not yet been aggressive in a pursuit of Jordan, sources said, with one saying they are simply 'sniffing around' the idea of a Jordan trade," he continued.

"It has been made pretty evident that the Clippers are open to the idea of moving Jordan, listed at 6-foot-11," he added.

Amico also appeared on CBS Cleveland's "Baskin & Phelps" podcast on Wednesday and he said the Clippers' asking price for Jordan isn't going to be high. That means the Cavaliers may not have to give up much to acquire him.

Well, they should really explore every option available if they want to strengthen their squad and adding Jordan seems like a good idea. He may be the difference maker they need to beat the Golden State Warriors if both teams reach the finals again this season.

Jordan's not blocking as many shots (1.0 per game) this season, but he's still considered one of the best rim protectors in the league. His 15.0 rebounds per game is also best in the entire league, and he's averaging 11.1 points a game this season while shooting 65 percent from the field. Jordan is definitely an upgrade over Tristan Thompson.

The Clippers don't seem to be in a hurry to move Jordan right now. But once the trade deadline draws near, the Cavaliers will probably be considered one of the favorites to land the center.
