'Constantine' News: Fans Petition to Bring Back the Show for a Second Season

Ever since the Welsh actor, Matt Ryan, reprised his famous character, Constantine, in an episode of "Arrow," fans have been demanding for his NBC series of the same title to be brought back. "Constantine" was canceled by the network a few months ago, and fans are now petitioning to bring back the show for a second season.

According to Den of Geek, Ryan's guesting on "Arrow" season 4 episode 5, which is titled "Haunted," renewed the fans' interest in the actor's famous DC character. "Constantine" aired on NBC from October 2014 to February 2015, but was unfortunately canceled before summer.

"Constantine's" showrunner, Daniel Cerone, was the one to break the news on his Twitter account that the show will not come back . He said, "I promised I'd share news when I had it — sadly, that news is not good. The cast and writers of Constantine are being released from their contracts. The studio tried to find a new home for the show, for which we're forever grateful, but those efforts didn't pan out. I'm sorry, I wasn't provided any information on the attempts to sell the show elsewhere. All I can report is that the show is over."

A petition was submitted to bring back John Constantine on TV at Change.org, and it has now over 35,000 signatures. One of the fans wrote in the comments why he wants it back, and said, "Because i love the show and i think its a fresh new spin to whats out on tv at this moment in time and im disapointed that Constantine had to appear on another show for the ratings to go up 11% which that alone should tell you that people WANT him back and the show."

Another "Constantine" supporter said that it should have never been canceled, and one petitioner said that The CW network should pick up the show if NBC did not want it.

Neither NBC nor The CW has made any official confirmation yet about the petition to bring back "Constantine."
