'Dancing With the Stars' News: Bindi Irwin Admits She Has Never Worn High Heels Until DWTS
So much has changed over the past few weeks since Bindi Irwin admitted that she has never worn high heels before joining ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." Now, the Australian TV host proved that not only she can dance, but she can dance well — with or without heels.
Bindi's partner, Derek Hough, admitted to Entertainment Weekly in an interview that Bindi could not dance before they became dancing partners in "Dancing With the Stars." "No joke, she could not dance," the pro dancer said about his partner. "To see her evolve and be aware of her body and [have] this confidence and even her posture is different, it's awesome," Hough said.
It only took almost three months for Bindi to evolve from a dance newbie to a dance diva, and since then, almost week after week, she and Derek win the judges' perfect 10 scores. According to International Business Times, one of the most memorable dance routines performed by the 17-year-old teenager was dancing "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" from the "Dirty Dancing." Bindi and Derek danced rumba on that song, and the dancing duo even performed the iconic "lift" from the movie, which the audience went wild for.
Bindi also showed her dedication during rehearsals since she was seen super-gluing her toenails, despite the nails keep falling off, and sustaining minor injuries, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. Many Australian fans of the late Crocodile Hunter's daughter hope that she will bring back the Mirror Ball trophy to the Land Down Under.
The finale of "Dancing With the Stars" will air later tonight, Nov. 23, on ABC, where one of the remaining four dancing pairs, Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess, Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson, Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold, and Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough, is set to win the Mirror Ball trophy.
