Daniel Bryan Injury Didn't Keep Him From Subduing Burglar: WWE Star Used Chokehold Until Police Arrived

Credit :

WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan has proven that he is as tough in real life as he is on the small screen. Bryan reportedly chased two burglary suspects he saw leaving his home and was able to use a wrestling move to subdue one of the burglars until police arrived.

Daniel Bryan, whose real name is Bryan Danielson, and wife Brianna, drove into the carport of their home in Arcadia, Arizona, when they saw a door of the house start to open. Danielson got out of the car and went into the home.

"I saw the guys running out the back," Danielson told the Huffington Post. "I chased them. I caught one of them. I kept him until police got there. Unfortunately, he wasn't in very good shape, so it didn't take much."

Danielson used a choke hold to subdue 22-year-old Cesar Sosa until police arrived. Sosa was arrested and faces a charge of burglary. He also has a felony warrant out for burglary and kidnapping in another case.

Neighbors actually called 911 to report suspicious activity at the home, knowing that Danielson's wife had left to pick him up from the airport. That made for a much faster response time and most likely a better ending for Sosa.

"I got really angry at first," Danielson said. "They're actually lucky that I got them instead of Brie (Brianna), because she probably would have been a little more violent."

Both are known WWE Superstars, but Brie recently quit in order to spend more time with her husband. She has been featured in an ongoing storyline with WWE co-owner Stephanie McMahon; Brie recently had Stephanie arrested for assault after Stephanie reached across a barrier and slapped her. Fans roared with excitement and support for Brie as Stephanie was handcuffed and arrested.

Danielson, the former WWE Champ, is currently recovering from serious neck surgery, and it's unknown when he'll be able to return to the ring.
