'Days of Our Lives' Spoilers: Alison Sweeney on Leaving the Show, Jan. 19- 23 Spoilers
Last year, fans of "Days of Our Lives" were surprised when Alison Sweeney announced that she was leaving the soap opera after 21 years of playing Sami Bradi. Many are still hoping that the actress would return, and before the Christmas episode of the show aired last month, it was rumored that she would return, but that didn't happen.
In a recent interview on "Larry King Now," Sweeney explained why she had to say goodbye to the show that has been her home for more than two decades.
"I was doing full time jobs working at 'Days of Our Lives' and hosting 'The Biggest Loser,'" she told King. "It just got to be too much … Watching my son go into the third grade and my daughter start kindergarten, I realized that I was missing out on a lot and they were missing out on a lot."

Sweeney said that leaving the show was difficult for her, especially since she has worked so hard to become an actress.
"I've been an actress since I was four years old, so it's been my lifelong dream," said Sweeney.
Here are the "Days of Our Lives" spoilers for Jan. 19- 23:
Jan. 19- Paul will make a surprising discovery about Will, while Nicole and Serena's arguments get more heated. Nicole feels like Daniel isn't supporting her enough, and tensions arise when three couples all end up at the same club.
Jan. 20- Marlena advises John to follow his heart, while Victor discovers that the situation with Clyde has become violent. Meanwhile, Will and Sonny argue, and Chad tells Abigail that Ben is lying to her.
Jan. 21- JJ is worried to find Paige getting closer to an old enemy, while Brady worries when he sees Theresa with her new man.
Jan. 22- Daniel worries about Melanie and Brady dating, while JJ and Eve have a heated moment.
Jan. 23- Jennifer finds JJ and Eve together, and Nicole's source gives her information on Serena. Chase invites Hope and Ciara on a trip.
"Days of Our Lives" airs from Mondays to Fridays at 1 p.m. on NBC.
