The 0.50 update for the multiplayer open world survival game "DayZ" will be delayed until further notice due to some last-minute crash related problems. Bohemia Interactive, the game's developers, have released an statement regarding the update's delay.

"Unfortunately, due to new crash related issues caught during last minute testing of patch 0.50, we'll have to push the update back to a later date. Stable branch servers will roll back to version 0.49 as well as Experimental branch servers will roll back to version 0.50," the dev team writes.

The 0.50 update will be adding new weapons such as the R92 Lever Action Carbine which uses .357 ammunition. The update will also configure the server to recognize the time of year set by the server admin or that progressing in real time and simulates the wind and weather conditions according to that data.

Meanwhile, "DayZ" creator Dean Hall has hinted earlier this month that there are plans to bring the PC game to consoles such as the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. The Playstation 4 port of the game has already been announced.

"DayZ is definitely going to be a multi-platform title. That's the firm vision from Bohemia's standpoint. But we'll announce what all the other platforms are as we get to that point," Hall says in an interview.

Hall additionally explains the changes that the game will need to undergo to transition from the PC to consoles. "The PC was the loser in that, because the UI had to be dumbed down. That's a good example of something we absolutely do not want to happen," he says.

"But the aim will be to play on the strenghts of those consoles," he adds.
