'Descendants of the Sun' Actor Song Joong-ki Preparing for Upcoming Movie; Film Overview, Other Projects and TV Series Update
Song Joong-Ki is a well-known actor for the South Korean television series, "Descendants of the Sun." The series will have its Season 2 release in 2017.
While waiting for the TV series, Song Joong Ki will star in an upcoming historical period drama film "Battleship Island." The moeir is directed by Ryoo Seung-Wan which will also come out next year.
"Battleship Island" talks about the story of 400 Joseon people risking their lives in order to escape from the Japanese invasion. They were forcefully taken by the Japanese. They escaped from the invasion with the help of the Korean Independence group.

Preparation For The Film
While busy filming the movie, Song Joong Ki is also busy preparing himself physically. In fact he has been physically trained by the famous personal trainer Danny Joe. Son Joong Ki was with the trainer for two weeks. This is for his role in the upcoming movie.
In Danny Joe's Instagram page, he posted a photo of the actor and himself, and even captioned it: "I was fortunate enough to train the one of the biggest star in Asia, Song Joong Ki. I am a living proof that when you do good things for other, it will ALWAYS come back to you. Be KIND, work HARD and AMAZING things will happen."
Song Joong Ki's role in "Battleship Island" needs for him to be physically fit, as the film needs him to be with all the action that the film will show. He also noted that he will undergo a transformation for the movie. With that, he is on a strict diet in an effort to keep his body fit. He is also undergoing more training programs to achieve a more manly body. He is even going to have his hair shaved bald.
Other Projects
Aside from "Descendants of the Sun" Season 1, and now "Battleship Island," Song Joong Ki will also be filiming a commercial this month and will also be in a promotional event.
While fans are desperately waiting for the upcoming second season of "Descendants of the Sun," it is best to wait and look forward to the upcoming movie "Battleship Island."
Hwang Jung Min, So Ji Sub and Lee Jong Hyung are also part of the film which officially started filming in June this year. The film is being shot in Cheongju, South Korea and will take around six to seven months for the production to finish.
