'Destiny' 2.0.2 Update Changes the Crucible and Other Aspects of the Game
The highly popular first-person shooter video game "Destiny" has just received a new update. Update 2.0.2 brings with it a lot of changes especially in the game's Player vs. Player part called the Crucible, according to a report in Tech Times. The Crucible is where playlists of Player vs. Player modes are found, such as those that feature individual, 3-on-3 and 6-on-6 matches.
The report noted that the reason behind the changes in the Crucible is because of the apparent difficulty of completing quests and bounties in the Player vs. Player mode. Thus, the game developer Bungie has thought of making adjustments on the quests and bounties. Instead of needing to win a Crucible match in order to make progress in a quest or bounty, players only need to complete a match to achieve progress. Winning is no longer necessary as playing the match is enough.
There are some quests that reward players who win their matches by helping them complete some quests faster than usual. But generally, players can just play the matches and they will still be able to finish quests and get bounties. As far as legendary item drop rates are concerned, the update has provided an increase for these in the Crucible.
One particular PvP event called the Iron Banner will also be seeing some changes with the update. It now comes with "increased reputation rewards for completing matches and packages for certain reputation ranks" and "increased legendary item drop rates."
Apart from Crucible, there are also other areas that the update is bringing changes to. One such change is that Banshee-44, the gunsmith merchant, will be selling weapon parts in exchange for glimmer. Another merchant, Lord Shaxx, will be selling three legendary elemental sword types provided players have completed the exotic sword quest line.
